New Athletic Director(s) Announced

Dear Dimmick Families

 

I am reaching out to let you know that I am officially passing the torch to Mrs. Ring, Mrs. Bazydlo, and Mrs. Goodbred, as they will be handling Athletic Director duties moving forward. You can contact them via email at: athleticdirector@dimmick175.com or by calling the school at 815.223.2933 with any questions you may have.  Below is the breakdown of responsibilities for each person so you know who to contact should questions arise.

Role: Supervision: JEN RING

  • Develop schedules for all District extracurricular activities (Girls’ and Boys’ basketball, volleyball, track, scholastic bowl and any other extracurricular activities that may be added at a later date). Completed schedules will be disseminated to all coaches, referees and appropriate District staff for posting to the District website. The Athletic Director will consult with coaches and or sponsors when changes to the schedule are necessary.

  • Communicate any cancellations or changes to games/contests to parents, coaches, and players 

  • Arrange for transportation when away events are scheduled to start at or before 4:30PM on school days

  • Schedule officials, admissions, bookkeepers, and scoreboard operators for all home extra-curricular events

  • Maintain appropriate records and documentation

  • Coordinate extracurricular event set up with the District maintenance staff

  • Complete registration for and ensures fees are paid for tournaments and memberships

  • Conduct annual mandatory parent meeting

  • Recommend policies that support and encourage sportsmanship of athletes, coaches, parents, and fans

  • Abide by and clearly communicates District, Prairie Conference and IESA rules, regulations, policies, and mandated training requirements to students, coaches, and parents

  • Serve as the primary contact for student-athlete, parent and coaching issues and concerns

  • Inform students, parents, and coaches when students are ineligible for academic or disciplinary issues

  • Approve coach’s rules and expectations

  • Attend meetings for and represents District’s interests in extracurricular cooperatives, IESA and the Prairie Conference

  • Communicate extracurricular related issues to student-athletes, coaches, and parents

  • Provide supervision at extracurricular events held at school (At least 50% of events hosted including Parent Nights for each sport)

  • Attend Prairie Conference and IESA Tournaments.

  • Ensure coaches have organized and documented the distribution and collection of uniforms.

  • Coaches must turn in all uniforms and the issued key before they are paid the stipend.

  • Approve all warmup music prior to the first home events
